What to expect at your Consultation

Unlilke regular Veterinary consultations, your initial Holistic consultation usually takes around 60-90 min. This involves getting to know your pet, through detailed questions and examination. During this time the acupuncture needles are also placed and left for between 5min-20min.

While the needles are in place most pets will relax and go off to sleep, some of this time may also be spent getting a massage or some gentle pats. Once the needles are removed there are treats.

Herbal treatments are most often combined with acupuncture to provide additional holistic support to your pets body. Using a combination of both Chinese and Western herbs, they are administered in liquid and pill form. As the herbal formula is individually tailored to your pet, herbs will be posted out usually within 2 days of the appointment.

Depending on the animals individual condition, repeat appointments range from weekly, monthly to 3-6monthly, some pets may only need treatments a few times a year for conditions such as arthritis, during the months when they are most painful.

I feel followup is very important for me to assist in the healing process of your pet, and I endevour to regularly followup after an appointment to see how your pet is coming along and how they enjoyed their treatment. I am always happy to discuss any concerns or answer any questions you may have before, during or after the consultation.
